A renovation project of a rooftop studio apartment located in Mombasa, Kenya. The client wanted to increase air circulation and provide a shaded area on the rooftop terrace to reduce heat loading on the external walls and create a comfortable airy shaded seating area. Additional windows and mvule louvered shutters were introduced to allow maximum air movement throughout the flat. A new kitchen island was added to increase worktop space and create a breakfast counter facing the ocean, and a small store room was converted into an extra bathroom.
